Dowels are primarily used for reinforcing woodworking joints, but with a variety of other applications such as curtain rails, mop handles, railings and to plug screw holes. 

Quadrant is used to cover the expansion joints for laminate flooring, or alternatively can be used to bridge gaps between internal corners.
