It does not need any treatment and is ready to use externally. You can if you wish, choose to add decking oil later on but essentially the decking is ready to fit and use.

Botanical name - Shorea Iaevius ridl, from the Dipterocarpeceae family.
Other common names: Bangkirai, Yellow Balau (although not yellow in colour).
Due to it's inherent strength and durability, Balau is used in many areas of the world in heavy construction, marine and boat building, however in the UK it is almost entirely imported for decking.
